Description

A delightful dish combining juicy chicken, rich cream, and tender egg noodles all in one pan, perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 oz wide egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)


Instructions

  1. In a large deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden and fully cooked through, about 5–6 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stir in Italian seasoning, and adjust seasoning as needed.
  5. Add the egg noodles to the skillet, pressing them down gently. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cover, simmering for 8–10 minutes until noodles are tender and sauce thickens.
  6. Return chicken to skillet, stir in Parmesan cheese, and cook for another 2–3 minutes until well combined.
  7. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter version, consider substituting heavy cream with half-and-half, and use whole wheat egg noodles for added nutrition.
