Description
A delightful dish combining juicy chicken, rich cream, and tender egg noodles all in one pan, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 oz wide egg noodles
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large deep skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add chicken pieces, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden and fully cooked through, about 5–6 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and melt butter in the same skillet. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stir in Italian seasoning, and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Add the egg noodles to the skillet, pressing them down gently. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cover, simmering for 8–10 minutes until noodles are tender and sauce thickens.
- Return chicken to skillet, stir in Parmesan cheese, and cook for another 2–3 minutes until well combined.
- Garnish with parsley if desired and serve warm.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider substituting heavy cream with half-and-half, and use whole wheat egg noodles for added nutrition.
