Description

A comforting dish combining the classic flavors of French onion soup with hearty meatloaf, topped with melting Swiss cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet French onion soup mix
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, French onion soup mix, breadcrumbs, egg, Swiss cheese, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve.

Notes

Mix the ingredients gently to avoid overworking the meat. Use fresh breadcrumbs for better texture. Add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
