Description
A simple and delightful recipe for making warm, fluffy pancakes perfect for breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract, stirring until mixed.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can lead to flat pancakes.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. If desired, lightly grease with cooking spray or a bit of butter.
- Pour approximately 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake, then carefully flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.
- Serve warm with syrup and your choice of toppings.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter, and ensure your baking powder is fresh for the best results. Keep pancakes warm in a low oven if making a large batch.
