Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup eggnog
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted, for topping)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the softened butter, eggnog, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. If you’re adding nuts, stir them in at this point.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, 1/4 cup of flour, melted butter, and cinnamon to create the crumb topping.
- Sprinkle the crumb mixture generously over the batter in the pan.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
For an extra touch of sweetness, drizzle a powdered sugar glaze over the cooled bread.
