Description

Delightful fluffy pastries dusted with powdered sugar, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.
  3. Combine wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring to form a dough.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover it and let rise in a warm spot for approximately one hour.
  5. Once risen, roll out to about 1/2-inch thickness and cut into squares.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry beignets in batches for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use fresh yeast for the best rise and monitor oil temperature carefully.
