A delicious and easy way to use overripe bananas, resulting in a moist and flavorful loaf.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg (beaten)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until they’re smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
- Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract to the banana mixture. Mix until fully blended.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and stir gently to incorporate.
- Pour in the flour and fold it into the mixture just until the flour disappears.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
For added moisture, consider adding a tablespoon of yogurt or sour cream to the batter. Avoid overmixing to maintain a light texture.
