Description

A delightful crockpot dish that combines tender chicken with rich marsala wine and garlic flavors, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup Marsala wine
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, chicken broth, and Marsala wine; feel free to add any desired herbs at this point.
  4. Place the seasoned chicken into the crockpot; pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and top it with the sliced mushrooms.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes (6 hours) or on high for 180 minutes (3 hours), until the chicken is tender.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream just before serving.

Notes

For a creamier sauce, add more heavy cream or parmesan cheese before serving. Use fresh herbs for enhanced flavors.
