A delightful crockpot dish that combines tender chicken with rich marsala wine and garlic flavors, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
- 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, chicken broth, and Marsala wine; feel free to add any desired herbs at this point.
- Place the seasoned chicken into the crockpot; pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and top it with the sliced mushrooms.
- Cover and cook on low for 360 minutes (6 hours) or on high for 180 minutes (3 hours), until the chicken is tender.
- Stir in the heavy cream just before serving.
Notes
For a creamier sauce, add more heavy cream or parmesan cheese before serving. Use fresh herbs for enhanced flavors.
