A delightful apple cake that is simple to prepare and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- ½ cup sugar
- ¾ tablespoon baking powder
- 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
- ½ cup avocado oil
- 3 medium apples (peeled and diced small)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a 7-inch springform pan with baking spray and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, add the sifted flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir to combine.
- Add the eggs and avocado oil to the dry mixture. Stir until you achieve a smooth batter.
- Fold the diced apples into the batter until well coated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- About five minutes before the cake finishes baking, warm the milk, butter, and sugar in a small pot over medium heat, whisking until combined.
- Once the cake is out of the oven, poke 25 to 30 holes in the top using a skewer.
- Carefully pour the warm milk mixture over the top of the cake.
- Let cake cool for 10 to 15 minutes, then remove the springform and parchment paper.
- Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Use fresh apples for the best flavor. Experiment with different apple varieties for unique tastes.
