Description

A delightful apple cake that is simple to prepare and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¾ tablespoon baking powder
  • 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • ½ cup avocado oil
  • 3 medium apples (peeled and diced small)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a 7-inch springform pan with baking spray and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the sifted flour, sugar, and baking powder. Stir to combine.
  3. Add the eggs and avocado oil to the dry mixture. Stir until you achieve a smooth batter.
  4. Fold the diced apples into the batter until well coated.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and bake for 35 to 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. About five minutes before the cake finishes baking, warm the milk, butter, and sugar in a small pot over medium heat, whisking until combined.
  7. Once the cake is out of the oven, poke 25 to 30 holes in the top using a skewer.
  8. Carefully pour the warm milk mixture over the top of the cake.
  9. Let cake cool for 10 to 15 minutes, then remove the springform and parchment paper.
  10. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Use fresh apples for the best flavor. Experiment with different apple varieties for unique tastes.
