Description
This effortless crockpot teriyaki chicken combines chicken, teriyaki sauce, and vegetables for a quick family dinner that requires minimal preparation.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 cup bottled teriyaki sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 piece bell pepper, sliced
Instructions
- Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot.
- In a separate bowl, mix together teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring it is well-coated.
- Add pineapple chunks and sliced bell pepper on top of the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken in the crockpot or serve whole with sauce poured over the top.
Notes
For a healthier option, use low-sodium teriyaki sauce. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
