Description

An easy and delicious meal that combines everything in one dish without the need to boil pasta separately. Perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz) package uncooked penne pasta
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 3 cups water
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F (190C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine uncooked pasta, marinara sauce, water, Italian herbs, and garlic powder.
  3. Add cut chicken breasts and mix well.
  4. Pour into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  6. Uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is golden.
  7. Let rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding chopped vegetables or broiling for a crunchy top. This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
