A warm and comforting Thanksgiving stuffing recipe bursting with flavor, featuring fresh herbs and simple ingredients.
Ingredients
- 10 cups sourdough or French bread, cubed
- 1 large onion, finely diced
- 2 cups celery, finely chopped (about 3-4 stalks)
- 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 4 cups low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and chopped celery. Sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the fresh herbs, salt, and pepper to taste. Cook for another minute.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread with the sautéed vegetables and herbs.
- Gradually pour in the broth while gently mixing until the bread is moist but not soggy.
- Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding cooked sausage or nuts. For a crunchier stuffing, bake uncovered for the last 10 minutes.
