Description

A warm and comforting Thanksgiving stuffing recipe bursting with flavor, featuring fresh herbs and simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 10 cups sourdough or French bread, cubed
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups celery, finely chopped (about 3-4 stalks)
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 4 cups low-sodium broth (chicken or vegetable)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onion and chopped celery. Sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the fresh herbs, salt, and pepper to taste. Cook for another minute.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread with the sautéed vegetables and herbs.
  6. Gradually pour in the broth while gently mixing until the bread is moist but not soggy.
  7. Transfer the stuffing to a greased baking dish. Spread it out evenly.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding cooked sausage or nuts. For a crunchier stuffing, bake uncovered for the last 10 minutes.
