Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 3 T taco seasoning
- 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
- 4 large eggs
- 1/3 cup chunky salsa
- 1 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9″ pie pan.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet until cooked through and drain any excess grease.
- Add the taco seasoning to the beef and stir to combine, then spoon the mixture into the greased pie pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and eggs, then add the salsa, 1 cup of cheese, garlic salt, and pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture over the beef in the pie pan and top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until set and golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute ground beef with cooked lentils or seasoned mushrooms.
