Description

A delightful dish combining tender beef sirloin and vibrant vegetables, simmered in a savory sauce, perfect for busy families.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef sirloin, cut into 2-inch strips
  • 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cube beef bouillon
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 large green bell peppers, roughly chopped
  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can stewed tomatoes, with liquid
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle the beef sirloin strips with garlic powder.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the beef for about 5 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Transfer the seared beef strips to a slow cooker.
  4. In a bowl, dissolve the beef bouillon cube in hot water, then add the cornstarch and mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the mixture into the slow cooker with the beef. Add onions, green bell peppers, stewed tomatoes (with juice), soy sauce, sugar, and salt. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Cover and cook on High for 180 to 240 minutes or on Low for 360 to 480 minutes.
  7. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes, garnished with fresh parsley or scallions.

Notes

Searing the beef enhances flavor; consider adding fresh veggies for improved taste.
