Description

Delightful crispy shrimp balls packed with flavor, perfect for gatherings or family meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for binding)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp mixture by finely chopping the raw shrimp into small pieces. In a bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Add cilantro and cornstarch if using. Mix everything thoroughly.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Form small balls from the shrimp mixture and gently place them into the oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  3. Remove the shrimp balls from the oil and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  4. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces, such as sweet chili, soy sauce, or spicy mayo.

Notes

Experiment with different herbs for unique flavors, and monitor oil temperature to avoid greasy shrimp balls.
