Ingredients
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups steamed broccoli
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced chicken sausage and sauté until browned.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the orzo pasta and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer and cook until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10-12 minutes.
- Stir in the steamed broccoli and parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm.
Notes
For added creaminess, consider stirring in a splash of heavy cream or milk after the orzo is cooked. Experiment with different vegetables like spinach, bell peppers, or zucchini for variety.
