Description

A delightful dish that brings together the rich flavors of garlic and cheese in a comforting pasta preparation.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Cook orzo according to package directions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. Lower heat and stir in the heavy cream, letting it warm up fully.
  4. Gradually incorporate the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and the sauce becomes creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Return the cooked orzo to the pot, stirring to coat the pasta thoroughly with the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to ensure it’s heated through.
  6. Serve immediately, topped with fresh parsley for garnish.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in vegetables like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes, or proteins like chicken or shrimp.
