Ingredients
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1 cup cranberry sauce
- 1 cup water
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup whipped topping
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Fresh cranberries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, and eggs. Mix until smooth, then pour into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake according to package instructions until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow cake to cool for about 10 minutes.
- Once cooled, poke holes all over the cake using a fork.
- Spread cranberry sauce over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
- In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, whipped topping, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Garnish with fresh cranberries if desired.
Notes
Ensure the cake is completely cool before poking it to prevent it from falling apart. Homemade cranberry sauce can be used for a personal touch.
