Description

A delightful dessert combining sweet and tart cranberry flavors with fluffy cake, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fresh cranberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, and eggs. Mix until smooth, then pour into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Bake according to package instructions until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  4. Allow cake to cool for about 10 minutes.
  5. Once cooled, poke holes all over the cake using a fork.
  6. Spread cranberry sauce over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.
  7. In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese, whipped topping, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
  10. Garnish with fresh cranberries if desired.

Notes

Ensure the cake is completely cool before poking it to prevent it from falling apart. Homemade cranberry sauce can be used for a personal touch.
