Ingredients
- 2/3 cup Flour
- 3/4 cup Oats
- 2/3 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup Butter (Cold, cut into cubes)
- 3 large Honey Crisp Apples
- 1 1/2 cup Cranberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 3 tbsp Corn Starch
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the filling by peeling and chopping the honey crisp apples and mixing them with cranberries, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, corn starch, and nutmeg.
- Pour the filling into a 9-inch pie plate or an 8×8-inch square pan.
- Create the topping by combining flour, oats, remaining brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold, cubed butter and vanilla extract, mixing until crumbly.
- Pour the topping over the cranberry-apple mixture.
- Bake for 55 minutes, placing the dish on a baking sheet to catch any overflow.
- Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For best flavor, use fresh ingredients. Allow the crisp to cool before serving to thicken the juices.
