Description

A delightful meal combining rich steak with creamy tortellini, perfect for a comforting dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
  • Parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak.
  4. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.
  5. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter and allow it to melt.
  6. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
  7. Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk. Stir to combine and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  8. Gradually add the shredded parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  9. Slice the rested steak into bite-sized pieces and return it to the skillet.
  10. Add the cooked tortellini to the creamy sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
  11. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper if desired.

Notes

For a lighter version, you can use chicken breast instead of steak or opt for vegetable tortellini. Fresh garlic delivers the best flavor.
