Description
A delightful meal combining rich steak with creamy tortellini, perfect for a comforting dinner or special occasion.
Ingredients
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned steak.
- Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add butter and allow it to melt.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk. Stir to combine and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Gradually add the shredded parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Slice the rested steak into bite-sized pieces and return it to the skillet.
- Add the cooked tortellini to the creamy sauce, tossing to coat evenly.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley, red pepper flakes, and cracked black pepper if desired.
Notes
For a lighter version, you can use chicken breast instead of steak or opt for vegetable tortellini. Fresh garlic delivers the best flavor.
