Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (or your choice of mix-ins)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set it aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and light in color.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips or any mix-ins you choose.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of the cookie dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them a few inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
  9. Remove the baking sheets from the oven and let the cookies cool for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
