Delightful chocolate truffles infused with rum, perfect for the festive season.
Ingredients
- 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup rum
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- Cocoa powder or chopped nuts for coating
Instructions
- Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just starting to simmer.
- Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for a few minutes until melted.
- Stir until smooth, then mix in the rum and powdered sugar.
- Refrigerate the mixture for about 120 minutes until firm.
- Once firm, use a melon baller or your hands to form small balls.
- Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or chopped nuts to coat.
- Let them set in the refrigerator before serving.
Notes
Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. They can be frozen for longer storage.
