Description

Delightful chocolate truffles infused with rum, perfect for the festive season.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup rum
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Cocoa powder or chopped nuts for coating


Instructions

  1. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just starting to simmer.
  3. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for a few minutes until melted.
  4. Stir until smooth, then mix in the rum and powdered sugar.
  5. Refrigerate the mixture for about 120 minutes until firm.
  6. Once firm, use a melon baller or your hands to form small balls.
  7. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder or chopped nuts to coat.
  8. Let them set in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. They can be frozen for longer storage.
