Description

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spread saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil.
  4. Pour the mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
  7. Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes to soften, then spread it evenly.
  8. Optionally, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
  9. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Refrigerate for longer storage, but allow to return to room temperature before serving.
