Ingredients
- 1 sleeve saltine crackers
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spread saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it comes to a boil.
- Pour the mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
- Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes to soften, then spread it evenly.
- Optionally, sprinkle chopped nuts on top.
- Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to a week. Refrigerate for longer storage, but allow to return to room temperature before serving.
