Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- Saltine crackers
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
- Sea salt (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and arrange saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Stir until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Pour the mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes, until bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let them sit for a few minutes to melt, then spread the chocolate evenly.
- If desired, sprinkle with chopped nuts and sea salt.
- Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
For a deeper flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of regular. Customize with your favorite nuts or dried fruits.
