Description

A comforting dish of tender chicken with a crunchy coating, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish
  • Olive oil for frying


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a shallow dish, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Place the fried chicken breasts in a baking dish. Top each breast with marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, fry the chicken in small batches and use store-bought marinara sauce for ease.
