Description

A delightful handheld dish that combines pizza flavors, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package pizza dough
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken, mozzarella, ricotta, Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  4. Cut the dough into circles (about 6 inches in diameter).
  5. Place a generous amount of the chicken mixture on one half of each circle.
  6. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping. Can be customized with different fillings.
