Description

This delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert blends rich mascarpone cream with sweet-tart cherries and a hint of amaretto liqueur, perfect for special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup espresso, cooled
  • 1/4 cup amaretto liqueur (or non-alcoholic substitute)
  • 24 ladyfingers
  • 1 cup sweet cherries, pitted and halved
  • Cocoa powder for dusting
  • Dark chocolate shavings for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  2. In another shallow dish, combine espresso and amaretto.
  3. Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the espresso mixture and layer them in a serving dish.
  4. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  5. Add a layer of cherries on top.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers, mascarpone mixture, and cherries.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes or overnight.
  8. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh cherries. Make ahead of time for improved flavor melding.
