A comforting and delicious Cheesy Meatball Sub recipe made with tender meatballs, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake meatballs in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until cooked through.
- In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the sauce and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Slice the hoagie rolls and place them on a baking sheet.
- Fill each roll with meatballs and sauce. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Use fresh herbs for more flavor and don’t overmix the meatball mixture. Adjust seasonings to your preference. For a spicier option, add red pepper flakes.
