Description

A comforting and delicious Cheesy Meatball Sub recipe made with tender meatballs, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake meatballs in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. In a saucepan, heat the marinara sauce over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the sauce and let simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Slice the hoagie rolls and place them on a baking sheet.
  7. Fill each roll with meatballs and sauce. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake in the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh herbs for more flavor and don’t overmix the meatball mixture. Adjust seasonings to your preference. For a spicier option, add red pepper flakes.
