Description

A delightful treat combining rich cheese flavors and sweet tartness of cranberry sauce, all encased in flaky puff pastry.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Cut a circle of pastry and place it on a baking sheet.
  4. In a bowl, mix the cranberry sauce, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spoon the mixture onto the center of the pastry circle.
  6. Fold the pastry over to create a half-moon shape, pressing the edges to seal.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  8. Make a few slits on top for steam to escape.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Ensure the cream cheese is softened before mixing for easier combining. Use homemade cranberry sauce for fresher flavor, but store-bought works too. Do not skip the egg wash for a golden crust.
