Description

A delicious and comforting dish that combines classic cheesesteak flavors with biscuit dough, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or shaved steak)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess grease as needed.
  3. Mix in the diced onion and bell peppers, cooking for about 3–4 minutes, until softened.
  4. Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well to combine and remove from heat.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the biscuit pieces, cooked beef mixture, half of the mozzarella, half of the cheddar, and heavy cream. Gently toss to coat everything evenly.
  6. Transfer the mixture evenly to the prepared baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and cheddar over the top.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through, the cheese is melted, and the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Allow the dish to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. Experiment with different cheeses and avoid overcooking the beef.
