Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup chocolate ganache (optional)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour the cake pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and baking powder. Gradually add this mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
- For the frosting, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Layer the cooled cakes with caramel sauce, chocolate ganache, and whipped cream frosting.
- Decorate as desired and serve.

Ensure eggs and butter are at room temperature for a smoother batter. Check for doneness a few minutes before baking time ends.
