Description
Delicious bars combining rich cheesecake and tart apples, topped with caramel sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 12 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until well combined. Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
- Fold in the diced apples, cinnamon, and caramel sauce (reserve some caramel for drizzling later). Pour the mixture over the crust in the pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the center is set.
- Allow to cool, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours before cutting into bars. Serve drizzled with additional caramel sauce.
Notes
Use tart apples for a better balance of flavors. Consider adding nuts for extra crunch.
