Description

Delightful and fresh California sushi bowls combine avocado, crab meat, and fresh vegetables over seasoned sushi rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/2 pound cooked crab meat
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cucumber, julienned
  • 1/2 carrot, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Nori sheets, cut into strips
  • Soy sauce, for serving


Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved. Fold this mixture into the cooked rice while it’s still warm.
  3. Layer the seasoned sushi rice with crab meat, avocado, cucumber, and carrot in bowls.
  4. Garnish with nori strips and serve with soy sauce on the side.
