Description
A spicy twist on a classic favorite, these Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes are easy to make and packed with flavor, perfect for family dinners or casual get-togethers.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Burger buns
- Optional toppings: sliced pickles, shredded lettuce, sliced jalapeños
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper, sauté until softened, about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the garlic and ground chicken, cooking until the chicken is browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the Cajun seasoning, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Serve the mixture on burger buns and add optional toppings as desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a splash of hot sauce to the mixture while it simmers. If you prefer a thicker sauce, let it simmer longer to reduce the liquid. You can substitute ground turkey or beef for ground chicken if you prefer.
