Ingredients
- 10 oz buttermilk biscuits
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 6 large eggs
- ½ cup whole milk
- 2 cups shredded cheese (divided)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups water
- 1 packet (2.75 oz) sausage gravy mix
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Press the biscuit dough into a greased 9×13-inch pan, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the breakfast sausage until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and layer sausage over the biscuit dough.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, whole milk, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the sausage layer.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of the shredded cheese over the egg and sausage mixture.
- Prepare the sausage gravy by combining the gravy mix with 2 cups of water, following package instructions. Pour it over the cheese layer.
- Top the casserole with the remaining cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 35 minutes, until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before cutting into squares to serve.
