Description

Juicy and tender BBQ Chicken Thighs soaked in homemade Southern BBQ sauce, perfect for grilling or baking.


Ingredients

  • 2.5 lbs Chicken Thighs (Boneless Skinless)
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder
  • 3 tbsp Avocado Oil
  • 1 cup Homemade Southern BBQ Sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F).
  2. Mix the brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and avocado oil to create a marinade.
  3. Rub the marinade generously over the chicken thighs, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Place the marinated chicken on the grill, skin-side down (if applicable). Close the grill lid and cook for 6-8 minutes.
  5. Flip the chicken thighs and continue cooking for another 6-8 minutes, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  6. Brush the chicken with your BBQ sauce during the last few minutes of grilling.
  7. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
  8. Preheat your oven to 425°F for the baking method.
  9. Mix together the brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, and avocado oil in a bowl.
  10. Coat the chicken thighs with the marinade.
  11. Place the chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  12. Bake them in the oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  13. Brush the BBQ sauce over the chicken in the last 5 minutes of baking.
  14. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Marinate the chicken thighs for at least 30 minutes or overnight for best flavor. Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper cooking.
