Description
Delicious BBQ chicken sliders made with tender shredded chicken, zesty barbecue sauce, smoked gouda, and sautéed onions, all in soft buns.
Ingredients
- 12 slider buns
- 1 pound cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 1/2 cup barbecue sauce, divided
- 1/2 cup cooked red onion, thinly sliced
- 7 ounces thinly sliced smoked gouda
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook 1 pound of chicken and shred it.
- Sauté 1/2 cup red onion in a non-stick skillet until soft.
- Mix the shredded chicken with 1 cup of the barbecue sauce.
- Line a sheet pan with the bottom half of the slider buns.
- Spread the BBQ chicken mixture over each bun.
- Drizzle the remaining 1/2 cup barbecue sauce over the buns.
- Layer sautéed onions evenly over the sauce.
- Add smoked gouda cheese on top of the onions.
- Cover with the top half of the slider buns.
- Bake covered with foil at 350°F for 15 minutes.
- Brush with butter mixture and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Use rotisserie chicken for best flavor and convenience. Choose slider buns based on preference; gluten-free options available.
