Description

Oven-baked BBQ chicken legs that are tender, juicy, and packed with smoky, sweet flavors. Perfect for any gathering or cozy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 12 chicken drumsticks
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce (or to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Spray the foil with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix together the olive oil, garlic salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, and onion powder until well combined in a large bowl or ziplock bag.
  3. Coat the chicken drumsticks in the olive oil and spice mixture, making sure they are evenly covered.
  4. Place the coated drumsticks on the foil-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
  6. Remove the chicken from the oven and generously coat each drumstick with BBQ sauce using a silicone brush.
  7. Return the chicken to the oven for another 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Remove from the oven, let it sit for a few minutes, and then serve hot.

Notes

For crisper skin, bake without foil. Marinating overnight adds flavor. Adjust spices to taste.
