Ingredients
- 12 chicken drumsticks
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce (or to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Spray the foil with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Mix together the olive oil, garlic salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, and onion powder until well combined in a large bowl or ziplock bag.
- Coat the chicken drumsticks in the olive oil and spice mixture, making sure they are evenly covered.
- Place the coated drumsticks on the foil-lined baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the oven and generously coat each drumstick with BBQ sauce using a silicone brush.
- Return the chicken to the oven for another 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove from the oven, let it sit for a few minutes, and then serve hot.
Notes
For crisper skin, bake without foil. Marinating overnight adds flavor. Adjust spices to taste.
