Description
Banh Mi Meatballs are a quick, flavor-packed appetizer that captures the essence of traditional Vietnamese cuisine with a delightful twist.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Mini or Regular Size Pork Meatballs (or beef)
- 1/2 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
- 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Teriyaki Sauce
- 1 tbsp Fish Sauce
- 1 cup Shredded Carrot
- 1/2 cup Chopped Cilantro
- 1 Thinly Sliced Jalapeño (adjust per heat tolerance)
- 1/4 cup Chopped Mint (optional)
- 1/4 cup Pickled Red Onions (optional)
- 2 Lime Wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork (or beef) meatballs with the sweet chili sauce, low-sodium teriyaki sauce, and fish sauce. Mix until the meatballs are well coated in the sauce.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the coated meatballs and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until they are evenly cooked through and slightly caramelized.
- While the meatballs are cooking, prepare a fresh salad mix with the shredded carrots, chopped cilantro, chopped mint (if using), and sliced jalapeño.
- Once the meatballs are ready, serve them warm on a platter, garnished with a sprinkle of fresh herbs and the lime wedges on the side.
- Optionally, top the meatballs with pickled red onions for an added tangy crunch.
Notes
Choose quality meat and adjust the quantity of sweet chili sauce and jalapeño to suit your taste. Serve warm for the best experience.
