Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onions over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add mushrooms and sauté until tender.
- Stir in breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Form the mixture into patties and place in a baking dish.
- Pour beef broth over the patties and bake for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare mashed potatoes.
- After 30 minutes, spread mashed potatoes over the patties and top with cheddar cheese.
- Bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot.
