Description

A comforting and hearty dish with beef, onions, mushrooms, creamy mashed potatoes, and melted cheddar cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups sliced mushrooms
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onions over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add mushrooms and sauté until tender.
  4. Stir in breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Form the mixture into patties and place in a baking dish.
  6. Pour beef broth over the patties and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare mashed potatoes.
  8. After 30 minutes, spread mashed potatoes over the patties and top with cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Serve hot.
