Description
Delightful Air Fryer Churro Bites are a healthier twist on classic churros, crispy outside, soft inside, and coated with sweet cinnamon-sugar.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a pan, add the water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring it to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and gradually add in the flour, mixing continuously until the dough comes together and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Turn off the flame and allow the dough to cool in a bowl for about 4-5 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract into the cooled dough, and mix thoroughly using an electric hand mixer until smooth and well combined.
- Transfer the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes, and spray the basket with nonstick cooking spray.
- Pipe bite-sized churros into the air fryer, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
- Brush the churros lightly with melted butter, then cook for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Once cooked, toss the churro bites in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
- Serve warm, with options for dipping like chocolate syrup, honey, or Nutella.
