Description

Delightful Air Fryer Churro Bites are a healthier twist on classic churros, crispy outside, soft inside, and coated with sweet cinnamon-sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a pan, add the water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring it to a boil over high heat.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat and gradually add in the flour, mixing continuously until the dough comes together and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  3. Turn off the flame and allow the dough to cool in a bowl for about 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract into the cooled dough, and mix thoroughly using an electric hand mixer until smooth and well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes, and spray the basket with nonstick cooking spray.
  7. Pipe bite-sized churros into the air fryer, ensuring not to overcrowd them.
  8. Brush the churros lightly with melted butter, then cook for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Once cooked, toss the churro bites in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  10. Serve warm, with options for dipping like chocolate syrup, honey, or Nutella.

Notes

Make sure to preheat the air fryer and avoid overcrowding for best results.
