Ingredients
- 4 croissants, torn into pieces
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Butter for greasing
- Powdered sugar for serving (optional)
- Maple syrup for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Place the torn croissant pieces in the greased baking dish, then pour the egg mixture over the croissants, ensuring they are all soaked.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- In the morning, remove from the fridge and let it sit for 15 minutes at room temperature.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with maple syrup if desired.
Notes
